2-3 days (3 hours per day)
Best for
confident scooty rider
Prerequisite
Must be able to ride a scooty/scooter confidently.
Start from absolute zero. No prior two-wheeler experience needed. Walk in nervous, ride out confident.
12 Hours
Who Is This For?
You have never sat on a motorcycle or any motorized two-wheeler before — and that is perfectly fine. This course is designed for absolute beginners who want to learn riding from scratch in a safe, structured environment. No scooty experience, no cycling background required.
We regularly train people from all walks of life: working professionals, parents enrolling their teenagers (ages 16+), women who want to ride independently, expats from across 10+ countries, and riders aged 16 to 75 and beyond. If you can walk, you can learn to ride.
All training happens on our private enclosed track at STAR Track near Gwal Pahari — no public road traffic, no pressure. You will use our motorcycles (150cc to 350cc, progressive sizing based on your ability) and sanitized safety gear, so there is nothing you need to bring except enthusiasm.

Course FAQ
Do I need my own motorcycle?
No. STAR Academy provides a variety of motorcycles (150cc to 350cc) and sanitized safety gear (helmet, jacket, gloves) for all sessions. You do not need to bring anything except comfortable closed-toe shoes.
What age can I start learning?
We train riders from age 16 to 75 and beyond. For riders under 18, a parent or guardian must provide consent.
I have literally never touched a motorcycle. Can I still join?
Absolutely — that is exactly who this course is for. You start from the very basics: how to sit, how to hold the handlebars, how the clutch works. You will be riding by day two.
How many days does the course take?
The 12-hour course is completed over 3-4 days at 3 hours per day. Slot availability determines the exact schedule — we will work with you to find convenient times.
You can ride a bicycle. Now learn to ride a motorcycle — the gap is smaller than you think.
9 Hours
Who Is This For?
You are comfortable on a bicycle — you have balance, you understand steering, you can ride in a straight line and make turns. But you have never operated a motorized two-wheeler. This course bridges that specific gap, building on the balance skills you already have.
Common profiles: college students who cycle daily and want to learn motorcycles, commuters looking to upgrade their transport, fitness enthusiasts who cycle and want to add motorcycling to their skill set. Your cycling experience gives you a head start — we build from there.
What You'll Learn
1
Motorized Controls Introduction
Transition from pedal power to engine power. Learn the throttle, clutch, brakes, and gear shifter. Understand how a motorcycle differs from a bicycle in weight, balance, and stopping distance.
2
Clutch Mastery & Power Delivery
The biggest difference from cycling: the clutch. Master the friction zone, practice smooth starts and stops, and learn to control power delivery to the rear wheel.
3
Gear Shifting & Speed Management
Learn to shift through gears smoothly while maintaining balance. Practice accelerating, decelerating, and matching engine speed to road speed.
4
Maneuvering & Braking at Speed
Apply your existing balance skills to motorcycle-specific maneuvers: U-turns, cornering, emergency braking. Learn progressive braking with both front and rear brakes.
5
Road Readiness & Riding Etiquette
Simulated road scenarios, vision techniques, correct body position, and riding etiquettes. Prepare for real Indian road conditions with confidence.
Course FAQ
I can ride a bicycle well. Is this the right course for me?
Yes — this course is specifically designed for confident cyclists who want to learn motorcycles. Your balance and steering instincts transfer directly. We focus on the new skills: clutch, throttle, gears, and braking.
How is this different from the Beginner Course?
The Beginner Course (12 hours) starts from absolute zero including balance. Since you already have balance from cycling, the Intermediate Course (9 hours) skips those basics and focuses on motorized controls, clutch mastery, and road readiness.
How many days does the course take?
The 9-hour course is completed over 2-3 days at 3 hours per day. We will work with you to find convenient time slots.
Already ride a scooty? Time to upgrade to a geared motorcycle. Master the clutch in 2 days.
6 Hours
Who Is This For?
You already ride a scooty or automatic scooter confidently — you understand throttle, braking, balance, and traffic navigation. But a geared motorcycle feels like a different machine. The clutch, the gear shifter, the weight — this course teaches you exactly those skills.
Ideal for daily scooty commuters who want to switch to a motorcycle, riders who own a motorcycle but have only ridden automatics, and anyone who can balance and ride a motorized two-wheeler but needs to learn manual transmission and heavier bike handling.
What You'll Learn
1
Manual Transmission Introduction
Understand how a geared motorcycle differs from your scooty: clutch lever, gear pedal, engine braking. Get comfortable with the controls before moving.
2
Clutch & Gear Coordination
Master the friction zone and smooth gear changes. Practice starting from standstill, shifting up through gears, and downshifting without jerking — the core skill that separates motorcycle riders from scooty riders.
3
Weight Management & Low-Speed Control
A motorcycle is heavier than a scooty. Learn to manage the extra weight at slow speeds: U-turns, tight parking maneuvers, and controlled stops without tipping.
4
Braking & Emergency Stops
Upgrade your braking technique: progressive front/rear brake coordination, engine braking with downshifts, and emergency stops at various speeds. Learn how weight transfer differs from your scooty.
5
Road Confidence & Transition Ride
Put it all together: simulated traffic scenarios, lane changes, hill starts, and sustained riding at different speeds. End with a skills assessment and personalized next-steps guidance.
Course FAQ
I ride a scooty daily. Is 6 hours enough to learn a motorcycle?
For most scooty riders, yes. You already have balance, throttle control, and road sense. The main new skill is clutch and gear management, which most riders pick up within the first 2-3 hours. The remaining time builds confidence and refines technique.
What size motorcycle will I learn on?
You will start on a 150cc motorcycle and progress to larger bikes (up to 350cc) based on your learning pace. This progressive sizing helps you build confidence gradually without being overwhelmed by a heavy bike.
Can I bring my own motorcycle to practice on?
We recommend using our training motorcycles first since they are set up for learning. Once you are comfortable, we can discuss practice on your own bike if you have one.
Gravel, inclines, water crossings — get adventure-ready before you hit the mountains.
8 Hours
Who Is This For?
You can ride a motorcycle confidently on paved roads — but the mountains are a different game. Loose gravel, steep inclines, river crossings, and unpredictable terrain demand specific skills that regular road riding does not teach. This course fills that gap.
Ideal for riders planning Ladakh, Spiti, Rajasthan desert, or Northeast India trips. Also suited for anyone who wants to ride beyond tarmac: farm trails, forest tracks, or weekend off-road adventures near Gurugram. You must already be comfortable riding a motorcycle on normal roads.
What You'll Learn
1
Off-Road Fundamentals & Bike Setup
Understand how off-road riding differs from road riding: standing position, loose grip, weight distribution. Learn to set up your motorcycle for off-road conditions — tire pressure, luggage loading, and pre-ride checks for remote terrain.
2
Gravel & Loose Surface Riding
Practice riding on gravel, sand, and loose dirt. Learn throttle control on slippery surfaces, how to read terrain, and how to maintain traction when the ground shifts beneath you.
3
Incline & Decline Handling
Master hill climbs and descents on unpaved surfaces. Learn body positioning for steep gradients, clutch-brake coordination on inclines, and controlled descent techniques using engine braking.
4
Water Crossing Techniques
Learn to assess water crossings safely: reading depth, identifying current, choosing your line. Practice riding through water at controlled speed with proper body position and throttle management.
5
Emergency Stops & Recovery on Loose Surfaces
Braking on gravel and dirt is nothing like braking on tarmac. Practice emergency stops, skid recovery, and picking up a dropped bike on uneven ground — skills that could save your trip.
6
Adventure Touring Basics & Trip Readiness
Luggage loading and weight distribution for multi-day trips. Basic roadside repairs, route planning for remote areas, and a simulated adventure ride that ties all skills together.
